MVDP MEMBERSHIP POLICY

Mid-Valley Development Professionals (MVDP) is a non-profit public benefit organization designed to offer professional development opportunities and networking for fundraising and development professionals in the Willamette Valley. Our members include individuals new to the industry as well as seasoned professionals. Our memberships are also open to students in order to encourage training prior to entering the workforce.

Each year MVDP’s Board of Directors will review the membership dues structure for the organization. Our memberships are personal rather than professional. That means that each member joins as a unique individual, and regardless of who pays for the membership, the membership transfers with the person, rather than stays with the organization (in the case of an individual changing employers).

Due to the nature of our membership fee structure, we have strategically kept our membership fees low. Our current membership fees are:

Individual Membership $30
Student Membership $10

Memberships are on a rolling calendar basis. Once MVDP receives the payment (regardless of the form of payment), the renewal date is the first of the month 12 months in the future. For instance, if a $30 check is received from Jane Doe on May 6,, 2008, Jane’s renewal date will be June 1, 2009.

MVDP will send membership renewal notices and make the membership form accessible via our website (www.mvdp-or.org) to encourage renewal.

In addition, MVDP charges meeting fees in order to supplement our annual budget. Each year the Board of Directors will review our meeting fees structure and may change the fees. Our current meeting fees are:

Members $5
Non-members $12

In order to encourage membership and participation in MVDP, the organization has a small scholarship fund where an individual may apply to us for one year of support. If awarded the Molly Miles Scholarship, the Board of Directors will grant one year’s membership fee as well as monthly meeting fees to the awardee for a twelve month period.
